Beyries drops emotionally-charged sophomore album, Encounter

Montreal native Beyries has unveiled her second full album, Encounter.

The album is packed with raw energy with the singer-songwriter’s vocals as the leading force. Love, frustration, and resilience are driving themes throughout the 11-track release.

Encounter features a mix of emotionally-charged songs like opening track, “What We Have” where Beyries sings, “I know your heart’s a mess right now” to “Into You” where she sings “I’m no good at cheating, I get cold and blue.”

However, don’t let these tracks mislead you; the album also features anthemic pieces like “Over Me” and “Graceless”. “Graceless”, in particular, is reminiscent of the kind of song that might be performed by Florence Welch: catchy, uplifting, yet heavy. Lyrically-speaking, it is probably the strongest track on the album with lines like “how many marches in Kyiv?” and “how many more walls will we build?”

Encounter is out now on Bonsound via streaming platforms. An official album launch will be held virtually on November 19 on Beyries’ Facebook page featuring conversation and a live performance from Studio Dandurand. A supporting tour is also set to kick off in February 2021. Find out more about Beyries at beyriesmusic.com.
